 SPRING 2019 REC (K-8) Information  
 
  • One clinic (weekday) and one game (Saturday) per week (K-8)

  • Clinics (K-8) run from April 22 - June 17

  • Games run from Saturday, April 27th thru June 15th

  • One request per player can be entered into registration record 

  • Rosters formed and teams announced April 23

  • Team Specific Jerseys (2nd grade and up) can be picked up at ASF once teams have been announced on April 23

  • Kindergarten and 1st Grade jerseys can be picked up at ASF on April 22. 
  • 3/4 and 5/6 tournament on Saturday, June 16

  • No Clinics Memorial Day - Monday, May 27th

REC COACH VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP

IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE:

  • Beginning Monday, March 18th: $50 late fee assessed
  • End of day, April 5th: Registration closes 
  • Beginning April 6th, all those that register will be put on a waitlist.  If a spot opens up, you will be charged a $100 late fee, and player requests will not be honored. 

Eligibility:

  • In Kindergarten thru 8th grade; Travel team available for HS players

Registration:

  • Register Online (at left tab); paid registrants will be listed.

Fees:

  • $205 for Rec player (K-8)
  • $100 less if ALSO playing WSA Travel (be sure to check the box on registration)
  • High School is under Travel
  • Financial Aid available thru Town Services, 341-1069 (Human Svcs Dept). Register first indicating you are applying for financial aid.
  • No Refunds. A partial refund will be considered for medical or moving reasons
  • ALL Registration closes per described above
  • Late fee will be assessed per described above

Clinics/Practice:

  • See Clinic Schedule on left tab

Teams:

  • Girls and Boys will be on separate teams
  • Groupings are: K, 1, 2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8
  • WSA Rec strives for team parity and competitive play.

Games:

  • Saturday General Game Schedule (see left tab)
  • Team Game Schedule will be posted before Opening Day
  • No Makeups
  • Players should arrive early for all games to warmup
  • All Players MUST be in uniform with shinguards, cleats, no jewelry
  • Parents, Coaches and Players should abide by the Code of Conduct

Volunteers:

  • To coach register online in the Spring Volunteer program
  • You will be contacted by your grade commissioner if you have met all requirements -- see the requirements under Parents/Volunteer top tab.

Insurance:

  • Part of your WSA fee goes to insurance coverage. For information, please see Forms Center at www.cjsa.org

Inclement Weather:

  • Game and clinic cancellations are announced on the WSA hotline 203-221-9900; town field closures are announced on the Parks & Rec Cancellation Line 203-341-5074
  • WSA hotline updated generally by 2 pm during the week and 7:30 am on weekends. If there is no message, fields are open and you should report for your clinic, practice or game.
  • Referees can cancel the activity if they deem the fields unplayable or dangerous.

Uniforms:

  • WSA jerseys and other gear are available from ASF Sports & Outdoors: 1560 Post Road East, Westport  203.255.4460 203.255.4460 ,
  • ASF Sports & Outdoors knows the appropriate uniform and ball size for each grade.
